Shortlisted for a Trio of Prestigious Awards

We are delighted to confirm that A-Plant has been shortlisted for three prestigious awards at the Hire Association Europe and Event Hire Association (HAE/EHA) Hire Awards of Excellence 2018.

  • Live Shortlisted for: Event Equipment Company of the Year
  • A-Plant Shortlisted for: Plant, Tool & Equipment Hire Company of the Year
  • Apprentice of the Year Shortlist

The winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony being hosted at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Saturday 28th April 2018.

The awards celebrate the achievements of hire and supply companies across the UK’s plant, tool, equipment and event hire industry and recognition is given to outstanding individuals. The ceremony is being hosted by Chris Hollins who is best known for his work as the sports correspondent for BBC breakfast and for winning Strictly Come Dancing. A-Plant entered three categories for the HAE/EHA Hire Awards of Excellence and has been shortlisted for all three categories, namely:

Plant, Tool & Equipment Hire Company of the Year (Turnover over £10 million) -The shortlisted finalists are said to be those who best demonstrate how their company achieves commercial success through adoption of company values and procedures by all employees, the provision of stimulating and supportive workplaces, the active development of all their employees and a sustainable approach to business. A-Plant has won the prestigious title of Hire Company of the year an amazing three times in the past five years, in 2017, 2015 and 2013.

Event Equipment Hire Company of the Year - Live has been shortlisted for this accolade. During 2017, Live supplied equipment for around 1,000 outdoor events and many customers renewed multi-year contracts, including Cheltenham Festival, National Ploughing Championships and Open Golf.

Apprentice of the Year for Tyler Lloyd, Plant Maintenance Apprentice - Tyler works in our Newcastle service centre, attending Cheshire’s Reaseheath College on a block release basis and he has been described by his Manager as the ‘model apprentice’.

HAE/EHA’s Managing Director Graham Arundell said the calibre of all the finalists this year was extremely high. We would like to wish all finalists the very best of luck for the ceremony in April.
