Lion Ranked 31st in Fast Track 100
Once again, LION Trackhire are in the top set of Britain's fastest growing companies. We returned again this year after an incredible year of new business wins.
This is the 18th annual Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 and despite incredibly tough economic times, The Sunday times commented "Many have grown by squaring up to big, well-financed rivals" and this too has been a huge challenge for LION. After only moving five places to No.31, this is a huge achievement considering approx. only 30% of companies rank for a further year.
We echo Richard Branson's comments on the 100's success this year, "Sometimes people imagine that going into business is a smooth trajectory from struggling start-up to fully-fledged global brand. But that's never really the case - growing a company is all about overcoming endless challenges, big and small"
At LION we're faced with these challenges every single day, from competitors undercutting us at any cost to an over-running client project. You can never ever take your foot off the gas, but it's not just determination that's important, Branson also goes on to say "All of these challenges have been overcome by creative entrepreneurs and their teams by thinking differently and working out how to navigate around complications to seize opportunities. It takes real team spirit to take on challenges and win, and also builds true camaraderie. It is the togetherness, above and beyond any other factor, that gets great businesses apart from also-rans.
LION have recently set up a CIG group (Constant improvement) which is a selection of changing staff members from Drivers to Accountants that are a collective, creative think tank, measuring key performances and implementing improvement. This is working wonders but it's the combination of this and our team spirit that gets the real results.
LION are on target for £15.5m turnover this year after only 6 years, we have recently won Growing Business [Under 25m] of the Year in the CBI/Lloyds Bank Growing Business Awards as well as a string of industry awards for our Product and service.
Most of our profits are invested back into the business to fuel our growth. This quarter we have invested into our own articulated vehicle units to improve our logistics, reducing reliance on sub contractors, and constructed 13,000 more of our LIONtrack panels, positioning us as the World's largest stock holder of aluminium roadways.
