Multi-Year Contract for World's Largest Flower Show
LION are in the middle of this season's RHS show calendar having completed the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show recently. LION was awarded an exclusive, multi-year contract for temporary roadways and walkways from the RHS for their Tatton Park, Hampton Court and Chelsea Flower shows.
Hampton Court is the world's largest flower show and features show gardens, floral marquees, talks and demonstrations by the industries illustrious. Erected on the north and south sides of the Long Water in Hampton Court Park, it is the second major national show after Chelsea but has a different character, focusing more on environmental issues, growing your own food and vegetables and cookery, while also offering opportunities to buy gardening accessories, plants and flowers.
This year's visitors are treated to a kaleidoscope of colour, shape and form in themed horticultural zones including 'Inspire', 'Grow' and 'Escape'. The show is covered on BBC TV throughout the week and our trakway came in handy for the crew's camera equipment. Catch up on the show on BBC iPlayer.
LION created a network of connected roadways for pedestrians using more than 2300 panels including 'steerable' sections where the interconnecting junctions were accurately planned to the millimetre. Our trakway benefits from a unique cross-serrated surface and hidden connectors, which together with end ramps, makes these walkways the safest in the industry and fit for a queen (See case study).
The installation is complemented by a 24/7 quality and safety maintenance team with additional stock to keep any unforeseen requirements covered for the duration of the show.
