Live has a long history with Goodwood’s prestigious events, servicing their event infrastructure requirements for over 25 years.
Live is one of the first suppliers to the events, constructing access avenues, build-and-break routes and pedestrian walkways.
For ground protection and access for public car parks and the ‘Over The Road’ trade and leisure field, we installed heavy-duty aluminum panels. On more sensitive turfed areas we use Supa-Trac for the lighter performance cars and pedestrian use.
At diversion points, steerable and angled panels negated any overlapping of roadways, which reduces the risk of trip hazards. Live’s barriers were located around the event to prevent build vehicles venturing off-road, this ensured the surrounding grassed areas remained in good condition, leading up to the event.
Around the main racing circuit, aluminium trakway enabled HGV access, whilst Supa-Trac performed admirably for temporary racing car paddocks, both aesthetically and to protect the manicured turf at the edge of the airfield.
Live’s Michael Wain explains, “My job is to make sure the installation runs smoothly every year, providing round-the-clock, on-site supervision. It is essential to work closely with the organisers and other suppliers to remain flexible and ultimately attain the prestigious finish the event deserves. It has to be perfect, it’s the flagship event that celebrates the golden era of motor racing and I’m proud to be part of it”
