LION Trackhire GmbH move into new premises in Neuenstein with a larger capacity for stockholding and begin to develop a strong reputation in the renewable energy sector in Europe.

LION Trackhire Ltd formed and subsequently, industry pioneer Dale Robinson joins as Managing Director to expand the business in the UK and Germany. LION sets out a lean activity with our own state-of-the-art Trakway system and the veterans of the temporary roadway industry. LION were also appointed to assist in the construction of the Olympic Village, protecting the running track for 200 tonne cranes and assisted in the UK’s largest crane to access and stabilise on the construction site.

Eve’s trakway was used to support the 96 tonne weight of Concorde at Manchester Airport until the iconic aircraft was moved to a state-of-the-art £1 million super hanger. Whilst the hanger was under construction, our products were used to provide an interim home for Concorde to keep her on public view.

Eve develop the 4.12m high Super Fortress Fence for Glastonbury festival to combat the problem of ‘fence jumpers’. The fence is utilised for the first time the next year, allowing the festival to legitimately grow and become a commercial (as well as cultural) success. The system is still in operation today.

Temporary roadway Pioneer and panel inventor John Robinson of Eve Trakway, became the only UK specialist for aircraft recovery where aircraft have overshot runways. Eve work grows significantly across the industrial sectors with beach access and heavy lift Railway accident recovery projects.

Eve constructs an underwater roadway through the River Thames for a stunt on the Hit 70s TV series Some mothers do ‘ave ‘em.

Eve’s Trakway systems are utilised on major construction projects, including Dunham Bridge in Nottinghamshire. The superstructure of the bridge was rebuilt in steel to trunk road standards.

Eve Trakway is formed by John Robinson at J.L. Eve Construction to develop a solution to access remote areas for the construction of the UK transmission network. Ex-Military beach access Trackway rolls were purchased and used until John re-engineered them into the first ever Trakway panels. Eve’s barrier services grew rapidly and became popular at the height of Beatlemania in the UK.
